I've been walking for fitness since 2013, averaging just about

21,000 steps a day. I am walking right now and would love to have you join me for the next 10 minutes.

A little bit later in the day, sun's up, so is the heat. It is hot. It is sticky here in South Carolina. And at the moment, I'm loving it.

Well, as you listen to this on the day it's released, it is Memorial Day, a holiday in the United States.

And I hope your day is filled with activities you enjoy, food you love, all done with the people you love, as we honor those who went before us and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

So if you made a fitness promise, hopefully today it will still be another link added to

your chain. This is one of those days where it's good that the promise is not super large. Now,

if you made a promise to get, say, 30,000 steps a day, well, you know, today

might be a little more of a challenge for you. But if your fitness promises to take a 10-minute

walk as you're listening to this podcast or 20 minutes, 30 minutes, you should still be able

to get that in. And perhaps that's exactly what you're doing right now.

As you go through the day today, also look for opportunities to move more when everyone else is sitting.

I love sitting at the right time, not in the right place.

That's why I spent a lot of money for a really nice leather chair for my home office. I enjoy sitting in that chair.

But that doesn't mean that I have to sit in that chair all day long, nor do I want to.

So as you're going through the day-to-day and enjoying activities, look at them from a little different perspective.

While everyone else is sitting, if you're maybe not in the mood to sit or you want to see things a little differently, get up.
