This week, we're revisiting our conversation with Daryl Hannah, who joined us last year

to talk about her Neil Young concert film, Coastal, which had a limited theatrical run in 2025.

Hannah, who followed her husband on his 2023 solo tour, says the biggest challenge was predicting where to place the cameras on stage

to capture his unpredictable performances.

He doesn't even know what he's going to play until he gets out on stage, you know.

So even when his guitar tech in the movie at one point asks him, you know, like,

should I tune O Black and G for this song? He goes,

it will reveal itself in the moment. You've got a 50-50 chance. He goes, perfect. That's what

we were anticipating. Daryl Hannah has been in the news lately, having written a New York Times

opinion piece denouncing her portrayal in Ryan Murphy's love story, which follows the relationship between

John Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bissette. Hannah, who had her own previous relationship with

JFK Jr., wrote that the series deliberately depicted her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny, and

inappropriate. As you will hear, she was none of those things when we talked to her.

She discussed her years of acting and activism, which she pursued alongside people like

Willie Nelson, Joan Baez, and RFK Jr. She also recounted a painful experience with Harvey Weinstein

on the Kill Bill Press tour and revealed what prompted her to proclaim

Slava Ukraini at last year's Oscars. But first, two buddies banter while I'm away. Stick
