Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham, as we edge ever closer to a new Prime Minister for this country.

Unfortunately, it's not going to be any of the gang of five that turned up for a debate at Channel 4 last night.

Boris Johnson was the clear winner after sidestepping the event, which seemed entirely geared towards hoisting Romana Rory Stewart further up the ladder of public

recognition. He gurned and wriggled his way through the contest declaring himself to be human,

which is debatable, flawed, almost certainly, and someone who frequently changed his mind

because he apparently thinks. Setting out his stall as the vulnerable

candidate without an ego is a calculated stunt to appeal to the stupid people who might think

he's trying to introduce us to a new kind of politics. He's as anti-democratic as it comes,

and he certainly won't be delivering Brexit for the people. And in any event, the whole point

of this particular debate was to appeal to

the general public who don't actually have a vote in the Tory party leadership election. Meanwhile,

the second ballot is just one day away. Will there be any serious threat to Boris Johnson? Seems

unlikely, doesn't it? Robot Rob, Gove the Cove, Team Saj. And of course, there's Jeremy.
