Good morning. Welcome, Naxios today. It's Wednesday, November 16. I'm Nyla Boone. Here's

0:09.8

what we're covering today. Former President Trump announces his 2024 run for office.

0:16.0

But first, today's one big thing. A deadly strike in Poland puts NATO on alert.

0:26.0

A missile hit Poland yesterday near the border with Ukraine and killed two people. This

0:31.1

came on the same day that Russia launched a series of missile attacks across Ukraine,

0:35.8

one of the broadest since the start of the war. Russia has denied responsibility and

0:40.5

Naxios' world editor, Dave Lawler, is here to help us understand what all of this means.

0:59.5

1:18.5

from Russia. What do we know about this missile and whether it could have come from Russia?

1:24.0

Right. So, of course, initially, when these reports came out that there had been an explosion

1:28.5

on the Polish side of the border, this is exactly one of the scenarios that people were worried

1:33.2

about when they were worried about the war expanding beyond Ukraine. Obviously, Poland is

1:38.0

NATO territory, so an attack on Poland is an attack on the alliance. But we, of course,

1:45.2

didn't know where this missile came from, and we still really don't, although, as you

1:49.5

said, Biden said he thought it was unlikely that it came from Russia's territory. That's
