Would you say that the core component of the regret or regrets that you do have is just the amount sacrificed for what you got out of it?

Or is there more to it that you just would rather not talk about?

No, I mean, listen, your family suffers, you know?

I mean, you know that just as much as anyone, you know?

And it's, you know, it's 35 years of it.

Yeah.

I guess, you know, thinking of it from the, what could have been had you gone a totally

different route of whatever.

I mean, anything in the private sector, starting a business, you know, what have you, you

know, and the potential that's almost limitless with that.

I guess that's the reason, you know, as I get older, I look at time that I spent in the

military and the naivete that I had at that point,

you know, from 18 to 30 years old, of waving the flag, getting my hands dirty for Uncle Sam.

It's the right thing to do.

You know, our country needs it.

All those things are true.

But that doesn't mean that other things can't be true and

that the people who are directing both of us to do the things that we are doing oftentimes

are some crooked, backwards, corrupt motherfuckers that absolutely would not tow the same line

of integrity that the people that they're putting in the positions

that they're putting them, they wouldn't do the same thing and don't do the same thing.

It's hard not to have a bitter jaded perspective on spending your entire life serving a cause
