Before we start today's edition of Revive Our Hearts, we want to take a moment to cry out to the Lord.

Here's Kathy Branzel, president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force.

Did you know that God has already given you everything you need to live a godly life?

Isn't that great news? It's not up to you. He has called us,

according to 2 Peter chapter 1, verses 3 and 4. He's called us out of his own glory and goodness.

And so therefore, right now, Lord, we pray knowing that you have given us everything we need to be and to do the life that you authored for us, a reflection, a responsive reflection

of your love, your grace, your long-suffering with us.

Lord, we thank you.

And we cry out for ourselves and for America

right now. We pray and cry out that we would apply what you have already supplied, knowing that

your Holy Spirit, even as we submit, will multiply that which you have given us. Lord, I pray

right now that we would be diligently faithful,

not just saying that we have faith, but showing that we have faith. Lord, we cry out that

your people called by your name would speak and act with goodness, with godliness, with holy conduct.

Lord, as your disciples, we would continue to learn and we would grow in the

knowledge of the glory of the Lord who is Jesus Christ. Lord, I pray out for self-control. Holy Spirit,

we submit to you. We push all of our preferences and all of our selfishness out to make more room for self-control and

perseverance and patience and godliness in our life so that you and you alone, Jesus Christ,

will be glorified and draw amen up to you.

We pray all this in Jesus' name as we cry out together. Amen.
