Hey everyone. Welcome back to heaving bosoms, the podcast where two best friends recap the plot of romance novels, mostly recommended by you, while staying connected and trying to stay sane.

HBs, we generally record at least a week in advance, and I personally try to stay focused on

the text we're recapping and the hilarity Aaron always brings. This podcast is one of my

means of self-care. It's also a means of escape for a lot of you,

and that's important. However, things are not okay, and they haven't been since before our country's

founding. George Floyd, Brianna Taylor, Tamir Rice, Eric Gardner, Sandra Bland, and countless,

countless others cannot be overlooked or forgotten.

We've got work to do so that we can help affect change. If you don't know where to start,

I'll include links in the show notes to bail funds that you can donate directly to to support

protesters all over the country, as well as a new book club

started by HBs that's all about undoing internalized white supremacy. The more we, especially

white women, educate ourselves about the systems we unconsciously prop up and benefit from,

the better armed we are to help.
