Summary

Poison is a bad way to go. Overtime, poisoning has become known as a "feminine" mode of murder. But do the facts support that contention? And what are some of the stories behind the most famous poisoners in history? Are there lesser-known cases that are just as interesting? What motivates somebody to start dabbling in poisons?

We were fortunate enough to speak about all these topics with author and illustrator Lisa Perrin. She recently published a wonderful book called The League of Lady Poisoners: Illustrated True Stories of Dangerous Women, filled with beautiful — and spooky — illustrations and fascinating stories about toxins, trauma, and torturous murder.

Here on the Murder Sheet, we’re all about real-life mysteries.

But when we need to relax, we love a cozy fictional caper. That’s why we adore June’s Journey, free-to-download hidden object game that you know we’re both obsessed with.

What makes this game so special is that you get to become the detective, hot on the trail of a rogue’s gallery of villains. Sleuth out mysteries everywhere from Hollywood to Manhattan, from Havana to Paris.

Navigate Jazz Age intrigue as you sharpen your observational skills with every level. And enjoy the little mental health break you get whenever you step aside to knock out a few puzzles.

We are up to chapter 35. I play whenever I need to take a break. It’s a great cure for daily boredom, and it makes me feel renewed and able to tackle whatever challenges I have ahead of me, whether that’s a big interview or a court hearing.

Check out June’s Journey now, and go back in time to uncover clues in the bygone age of 1920s.
