Before we begin, a little about Gary Zoukov.

He is not one to beat his own drum.

He's a very humble man, so you might not know much about

his remarkable and gentle spirit.

Like most of us, he started out in life with a lot of dreams

and ambition, but again, like most of us,

he had to learn some tough lessons before his eyes could really be open.

Gary Zoukov spent his childhood in Port Arthur, Texas,

and its college years took him to the hallowed halls of Harvard.

He quit after his junior year to wander through Europe,

but then returned to graduate in 1965.

When he was 24, he joined the army and became a member of the elite green berets.

His regimented military life later gave way to several years of drifting.
