Summary

Culture is confused. Manhood is under attack. Too many men have traded responsibility for comfort, strength for passivity, and humility for pride. But the Bible gives us a different charge: “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Cor. 16:13-14). In this roundtable, pastors, athletes, hunters, authors, and leaders share raw stories of failure and redemption, fatherhood and faith, and what it really means to be a man in God’s eyes. From the dangers of extended adolescence to the daily disciplines of brotherhood, mentorship, and service, this conversation is a call to arms. This is not about outdated stereotypes or cultural caricatures. This is about courage, conviction, humility, and responsibility. This is about becoming the kind of man your family needs, your community needs, and the kind of man God has called you to be. It is, it's going to be impactful to so many people to hear this group in particular,

0:35.9

so many backgrounds, so many different lengths of time that they've

walked with the Lord, but a commonality among them of just trying to be the man that God's called

0:46.1

them to be. Yeah, I think one of the common themes is none of us feel like we have it figured out.

0:51.2

I mean, that that's what will come through. And yet we know that the source of being

0:55.9

a man, the man that God has called us to be, is in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

1:00.2

Yeah. So like you said, a lot of different people, a few pastors, some of them that you've heard of

1:04.6

a lot, some people in the hunting industry, television, song, ball fields. And what we all have in common is God

1:14.1

has called us to be to be men. Yeah. And all this is in light of your newest book, Stand

1:19.1

Firm and Act Like Men. Hopefully you've bought your copy and you buy it for all the men in your

life. And honestly, anybody can read this and get something from it because we all at least know a man.

1:30.5

And it's helpful to learn, even as I was reading it, to just learn how your minds and your hearts are wired just differently.

1:39.3

So let's just talk about who is here because we're going to talk a lot about what's in this book in just a few moments, but of course we have you, you're the lead pastor here at the Church of 1122. This is your fourth book. That's right. Which is so fun and fourth in four years, isn't it? That's a lot. That's a lot. It's like you waited so long and then you just went for it because you had all the content ready. And then we have Charles

Martin who, yeah, you want to give a brief. I mean, most people know him if they followed you for

any amount of time, but Charles. Charles is one of my dearest friends on the planet. He's one of

the godliest men I've ever met in my whole life. I feel like just knowing Charles as my friend

makes me a better husband and a better dad and a better
