Summary

In today's episode we had a much needed conversation about racism in the United States, and we were lucky enough to have four guests come on our podcast to share their thoughts and opinions. Our main goal was to work through how we have all been feeling in the wake of George Floyd's death and share how we can be encouraging others to educate themselves and contribute to making a difference. Our guests included: Paloma (IG: @paloma.christina.15, TikTok: paloma12310, Sasha Hill (IG: @sashaahill_), Nariah, and Jada (Thank you so much again for coming on and letting your voices and experiences be heard)

For this week's episode, we are going to be kind of taking a step back and using this

As you guys know, all the events that have been happening recently.

0:20.2

There's some tragic things that we need to talk about.

0:22.2

Obviously, the murder of George Floyd is unacceptable, and murders like his need to be talked about.

0:29.9

So that's what we're hoping to do this week.

0:31.3

Especially with all of the unrest and protesting that's been going on throughout,

0:35.7

not just the United States at this point, it's happening all over the world.

0:38.5

So I think that acting like this isn't going on is honestly foolish.

0:43.9

And tone deaf.

0:45.0

I was thinking at this point that this has happened a lot.

0:47.6

Like, black people have been murdered a lot.

0:50.3

And this is the first time I've ever said anything about it.

0:52.7

I agree.

0:53.4

I think this is the first time a lot of people have spoken about it, and I think we'll get into kind of the

0:57.6

idea of like, why is it happening now as opposed to every other time? Some people are claiming

1:02.0

it's because there's a pandemic going on and like nothing else to talk about. Um, so we'll kind

1:06.3

of see what the people we have coming on, we'll say about that. I guess we can also talk about,

1:12.8

instead of doing a weekly spotlight this week, because it feels very insensitive to do the highlight

1:19.2

of our lives. Meg and I each picked out a quote that we thought was helpful for at this time.
