Hi moms, this is Heidi St. John. Today I am in the book of Hebrews, chapter 3, verses

12 to 13. It says, see to it brothers that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that

turns away from the living God, but encourage one another daily as long as it's called

today so that none of you may be hardened by sins deceitfulness. This verse is an excellent

reminder to us as parents, particularly to us as parents of teenagers that we need to

be having a constant conversation with our children. The Bible is warning us that when

we let days or weeks even months go by without personal self disclosing conversations with

our kids, we open them up to temptation. And it's easy for parents to just come in the

door after a long day of work and just want to be quiet and unwind. But my husband and

I have discovered that when we are in constant conversation with our kids, we find out what's

going on in their heart and what's going on in their mind. You need to be as the parent

keeping your finger on the pulse of your child's relationship with other people and their

relationship with the Lord. And you can't do that if you're not talking to them. One
