Hello everyone and welcome to Scary Interesting.

0:03.9

In this video we're going to look at three stories that happened thousands of years ago.

0:08.2

What's most surprising about each of them is just how much we've been able to learn despite

0:11.7

how long ago they occurred.

0:14.0

With that said, that doesn't make them any less mysterious or gruesome, so as always,

0:18.8

viewer discretion strongly advised.

You might have seen a picture that's circulated a few times since it first hit the

1:05.1

The volcanic explosion sent hundreds of tons of rock into the air, and this man was struck

1:09.3

by some of the debris, killing him where he stood and leaving him to be found almost 2,000 years later.

1:14.3

Unfortunately, although this makes for a great story, recently the man's skull was found intact

1:18.7

in the vicinity, indicating that he probably died first and then was struck by the stone

1:22.1

after or that the remains moved around from their original position and only appeared to

1:25.7

have been hit by the stone. At the

1:27.6

same time, this doesn't really make what probably happened any less horrifying. In the year 79,
