| 0:19.6 | Hello and welcome to another edition of The Byron York Show. The No Chat Chat podcast. We like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is a classic, a classic, anti-Trump frenzy. It's happening again. You know that you see it all around you. |
| 0:40.8 | Let's go back a little bit. Beginning in the months before Donald Trump took office as President of the United States and extending well into his presidency. |
| 0:50.9 | The media and the political world took a set of vague, vague but serious accusations of wrongdoing involving the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia. |
| 1:03.4 | These allegations of wrongdoing saying the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia had conspired and so the media and the political world took these allegations and created a 24 seven frenzy of talk about secret evidence about potential criminal charges about allegedly grave damage to national security. |
| 1:25.6 | Now this was fed by leaks that were originating in federal law enforcement and the intelligence community and interested lawyers who were interested in things and fed by all this ostensibly responsible people engaged in wild speculation about collusion. |
| 1:49.0 | It was terribly damaging to then President Trump and here's the punchline. Nobody knew what the evidence was. It was secret, classified, grand jury, ongoing investigation, whatever. It was secret. |
| 2:04.1 | All the talk, incredibly damaging, all the talk was based on little bits of information and nobody at the time had the big picture. |
| 2:14.8 | The secrecy cloaking the details of the case allowed anti-Trump speculation to flourish. So as you know, there was an investigation. |
| 2:26.7 | So by the time the multi-year criminal investigation with all the powers of law enforcement was unable to establish that conspiracy or coordination, those were the official words for collusion. |
| 2:40.5 | It was unable to establish that collusion had even occurred at all by that time the damage had been done. |
| 2:47.7 | Trump Russia had irreparably harmed the Trump presidency. The lost years could not be recovered. You can't get it back. |
| 2:59.2 | Now, Trump is out of office for 19 months. He's out of the White House. And it's happening again. |
| 3:07.6 | So the issue we're talking about, of course, is the allegation that Trump had documents from his presidency at Mar-a-Lago, the Winter Home in Florida. |
| 3:17.1 | Now, according to the allegation, by doing this, Trump violated the Presidential Records Act, which is not an actual criminal statute, |
| 3:26.0 | but it requires that outgoing presidents turn over their papers to the National Archives. In addition, where we get into the criminal statutes, |
| 3:35.0 | the allegation continues that some of the material Trump kept was classified. Some of it at a very high level. |
| 3:43.7 | Okay. You might ask, what is it? What is this material? What is the material? The FBI says Trump kept at Mar-a-Lago, |
| 3:54.0 | the material that the FBI carted away in boxes from Mar-a-Lago. |
| 3:59.2 | So we have the recently released search warrant. It's pretty vague. It says things like miscellaneous secret documents and miscellaneous top secret documents. |
