0:07.1	I am with my parish and my family this week and so for the next two weeks I'm going to

0:13.0	But I just wanted to say Merry Christmas.

0:21.2	Tuesday is Christmas Eve and you might be looking forward to Christmas Day.
0:25.2	You also might be dreading it.
0:26.7	You might be dreading Christmas Day because you're going to be with family members who
0:29.8	you maybe haven't seen in a while and you struggle with who have offended you or wounded
0:33.6	you in significant ways that it just might be difficult to be in their presence.
0:38.8	You might be dreading the upcoming holidays, the Christmas season.
0:44.5	If that's you then I really want to encourage you today to set apart time of prayer because
0:49.1	we can't control like how we're going to feel whenever we see people who have heard
0:54.5	us or wounded us or just where there's like a lot of tension.
0:58.2	But we can prepare our hearts for those encounters by allowing God to encounter us right there
1:05.0	in the pain and the hurts and the wounds and the stuff by spending significant time with
1:09.5	him today in prayer.
1:10.5	Today on Christmas Eve to spend time with Jesus and His Word so that the Word of God can
1:16.4	dictate how we're going to respond to potentially difficult situations on Christmas Day.
1:22.5	If you're looking forward to Christmas Day then just praise God.
