| 1:03.1 | I belonged to a Bible-reading society that had a great influence among young Christians in Great Britain and in the old British Commonwealth countries. |

| 1:09.5 | Those were the days of badges, |
| 1:11.6 | a sign you belong to something bigger than yourself. |
| 1:15.6 | And the Scripture Union badge was a lamp on a green background, |
| 1:19.6 | reminding us that God's Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. |
| 1:25.6 | And I wore it on my lapel. |
| 1:29.3 | In my very first week on campus, I was going up the stairs in the residence I lived in |
| 1:35.3 | when an older student passed me on the way down. |
| 1:39.3 | I later discovered his name was Dennis. |
| 1:42.3 | As he passed me by, he paused, pointed to the badge on my lapel and said, |
