Philippians chapter 2 verse 4. Let each of you look not only to his own interests,

0:10.4

but also to the interests of others. What a simple verse followed by one of the most

0:16.4

majestic passages in all of the Bible about the glory of Jesus who, being in very nature,

0:24.8

God did not consider a quality with God something to be grasped. We made

0:28.3

himself nothing taken of very nature of a servant being made in human likeness.

1:34.0

but also to the interests of others? That'll change your perspective on your day.

1:40.8

Just look at the people you interact with today. And as you see them, think, what are their

1:46.9

interests? What is good for them? What would be pleasing to them? Obviously, in ways that

1:53.2

accord with God's word and to say, I want to look out for them today. I want to serve them today.

2:00.8

I want my posture toward others to be one of looking out for others' interests. And can we just

2:09.5

confess the obvious? This is not natural to us. We naturally look out for ourselves. One is natural

2:16.1

to us is to make decisions, to have thoughts, desires about what is best for us. And so we pray,
