Hi, everyone. It's 4 o'clock in the east, big day of news today on Capitol Hill. Today,

a brutal collision between reality and delusion, a Republican effort to whitewash the ex-presidents

ties to Russia, culminating in a veteran prosecutor under oath seemingly unwilling to acknowledge

basic facts in service of Republican conspiracy theories. Just a few weeks after releasing

a 300-page report after an investigation that went on for four years, cost a taxpayer

$6.5 million, a report that the Washington Post described this way as, quote, landing

with a thud, resulting in no new charges, and none of the widespread abuses Trump and

his allies have alleged for years now. Special counsel John Durham testified today before

the House Judiciary Committee. Now, despite all those facts, Durham described his findings

as sobering, and it was left to the Democrats on the committee to point out the truth of

his own investigation, an investigation that Trump and his hand-picked Attorney General Bill

Barr set up to investigate the investigators. Here is ranking member, Jerry Nadler.

It's not correct. No, I mean, there were multiple parts of that.

Did it take four years to complete? Correct. Okay. And with all these resources and all these

people you were sent to help you investigate the investigators, you only filed three criminal

cases. You only brought two cases to trial, correct? Correct. And you lost all the cases,

you brought the trial, correct? Correct. In that case, the primary investigative steps were

all completed by Inspector General Harrowitz. Perhaps you were better when it came to your

report. For my reading, your report did not make any specific concrete recommendations

to improve DOJ or FBI policies or procedures. In fact, your report repeatedly references

the recommendations made by Inspector General Harrowitz, almost all of which DOJ and FBI

have already implemented. Again, your investigation lasted four years. Four years and untold sums
