Today's talk comes from Pastor Ben Stewart.

Well, when I was in fifth grade, we had a talent show.

And at the talent show, there was this sweet girl that decided to play on the piano,

this beautiful song, The Neverending Story, and sing along with it.

If you're not familiar with the song, it's very dramatic. It goes, The Neverending Story and sing along with it. If you're not familiar with the song, it's very dramatic.

It goes, The Neverending Story, and then it's all this, ah, it's very exciting.

The tough part is, bless her heart, the girl got sick the night before, but the show must go on,

and so she got up there, and she

played her little heart out, but as she began to sing, it sounded more like, the never-ending

store.

Oh!

And all of us were like, oh, ooh.

And yet when she was done, we all broke into applause because we watched this girl

just take on the vulnerability of risking in front of her peers, struggling with the show that must go on,

and just triumphing over the incredible awkwardness of it all. And so we were cheering her on,

but we were also cheering because that was the theme song of one of the best movies of our childhood, the never-ending

story, which if you're not familiar, it's a story about this young man who lost his mother,

is grieving that but not knowing how and is bullied that life is very hard.

And while he's being chased by bullies through the streets, runs into a bookshop,

a mysterious bookseller gives him this book that he tells him is not safe.
