All night long, relatives of the pretty 14-year-old Hattie Zenda, 909 Wild Street, who disappeared mysteriously Friday

night, prosecuted their search for some trace of the missing girl, but without result.

The neighbors have joined in the search for the girl, whose disappearance has caused great

excitement in that quarter of the city.

It is of the opinion of her relatives and of the neighbors that the young girl was kidnapped

while walking on the public streets of the city and is being held in slavery.

They fear that she has suffered a fate worse than death.

That the girl was marked for capture a week

before her disappearance is the firm belief of Miss Anna Zenda, an older sister. Ms. Zenda's pale features

Monday morning bore out her statement that she had not slept since the night of her sister's

disappearance. Quote, I believe that my slept since the night of her sister's disappearance.

Quote, I believe that my sister was the victim of a kidnapping plot too terrible to contemplate.

Since she left the 13th Ward School last June, she's been helping our sister, Mrs. Mary Ertman, 929 Racine Street, with the housework.

This she did because my sister was ill.

It was Haddy's custom to come home between 8 and 9 in the evening.

She invariably crossed the Racine Street Bridge on her way home.

On Saturday evening, November 6th, she was crossing the bridge at about 9 p.m. when she met two men,

perhaps 25 years of age. She described him to me later as being well-dressed with long black

overcoats and black derby hats. One of them accosted her. He asked, isn't it pretty late for a pretty

girl like you to be on the street?
