A blow in court for the twice impeached disgraced and indicted ex-president.

It all but insurers, that special counsel Jack Smith will finally hear from the key witness

who numb the other investigations into the Trump coup plot, not the January 6th Select

Committee in Congress, not the Fulton County DA Funny Willis.

As ever heard from underups, we're of course talking about Vice President Mike Pence.

A ruling handed down Wednesday night by a federal appeals court rejects an emergency request

by Trump to block Mike Pence's testimony.

Here at Times reports this quote, the 11th hour ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for

the District of Columbia paves the way for Mr. Pence to appear before the federal grand

jury as early as this week.

The ex-president has a few legal options left, including an appeal to the Supreme Court,

but has NBC News reports, quote, in previous instances where the appeals court has said Trump

senior aides or his defense attorney Evan Corcoran must testify.

His legal team has opted not to fight the decisions further, and those witnesses have

quickly appeared before the grand jury.

In Trump's argument that executive privilege prevents Pence or any of his aides from testifying

about conversations they had with Trump has already been rejected by court.

After court, including in this very case, Washington Post reports this quote, Pence initially

fought the subpoena himself arguing that he was taking part in a congressional proceeding

on January 6th and therefore covered by protections for lawmakers.
