Hello, my friends. Hey, I wonder, can you think of a situation in your life where looking

back on it, you were just a little bit too confident in yourself, in your ability to carry on

with something that you thought you should do. Well, today we're going to watch

this unfold before us, where the disciples have a kind of confidence that on the surface sounds

good, but is a little bit too confident for the ability and the place they were in life. Welcome to

the morning mindset. My name is Carrie. This is where we get our minds aligned with the truth of God's word.

And we'll be looking at that story from the Gospel of Mark chapter 14 versus 26 through 31 in just a moment.

But before we do, I want to encourage you if you're getting benefit from the morning mindset.

Would you take a moment to tell somebody about the morning

mindset? Tell others what you were experiencing and what you were benefiting from so that they

too could be open to finding out more about the word of God and learning to get their minds

aligned with the truth of God's word for every day. Would you do that, friends? I so appreciate it.

All right. Before we dig into Mark 14, I'd like to invite you to pray with me so that we are aligned with God, first of all,

and ready to hear what he has to say to us. Our Lord Jesus, we want you to teach us today, and we expect

that that's going to happen, but we know also that our own way of

thinking can get in the way. So please just clear out our minds and our hearts of our own

agendas and our own defensiveness and our own pride and help us to humbly receive the word

that's being spoken to us today. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. Okay, Mark 14, verses 26 through 31. This is Jesus and

his disciples. They just experienced a meal together called the Passover meal. And as part of it,

Jesus implemented what we know as communion or the Lord's supper. And it says,
