that there has been an assassination attempt on former Japanese Prime Minister

Shenzo Abbe.

Local media say that Abbe was giving a stump speech

in the city of Nara and was shot and had collapsed bleeding.

Again, unconfirmed reports that former Prime Minister

Shinoabe has been shot in the city of Nara. It said he was attacked by a man

from behind while making a speech in a street, not the sort of thing you expect to ever hear out of

Japan.

Before we do, Boris Johnson finally gave the people what they wanted and has thrown in the towel.

It is clearly now the will of the Parliamentary Conservative Party that there should be a new leader of that party and therefore a new prime minister

And I've agreed with Sir Graham Brady the chairman of our backbench MPs

That the process of choosing that new leader should begin now and the timetable will be announced next week

and I have today appointed a cabinet to serve as I will until a new leader is in place.
