All of these ceremonies in the Old Testament were discontinued in the early Christian church,

because they recognized that the former things, the shadows that pointed beyond themselves,

when the full truth emerged, to go back to the shadows, would go back to the elemental things

and go back to the imperfect things and the incomplete things,

which in a sense would be a tacit rejection of the finished work of Christ,

whose atonement is perfect and complete.

The book of Hebrews makes the case for not only the superiority of the new covenant over the old covenant, but also the superiority of Christ, over Moses and the Old Testament

and so today, as we close out this

week's study on God's covenants and God's promises, Arisci Spro will do a deep dive into
