I'm your host, Blue Skies, and tonight, today, this morning, whenever you happen to be listening, I want to tell you about origami, origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding,

0:48.3

in which you fold paper, traditional origami paper is called washi, and you fold it into shapes,

1:06.0

sometimes it's just shapes, but other times it's animals, and other times it's objects.

1:14.6

And it can be really fun, it just depends.

1:18.6

So I am going to tell you how to start as a very, very beginner, how to start folding your very first origami animal or shape or boat or other item so all you're really going to need at first, well, it depends, you can really get away with

1:52.2

just a square piece of paper.

1:56.4

But if you don't have a square piece of paper you can just get regular printer paper

2:03.6

and I'm gonna tell you how to fold it and cut it into a square piece of paper

2:09.6

more folding more origami.

2:37.0

So you'll need that paper, and then you'll need scissors.

2:43.0

And if you want to decorate the paper, which can be fun,

2:47.0

markers, or paint, or stamps stamps or really the the options are are limitless, nearly

3:01.6

limitless, I think. I personally have a bunch of Sharpies that are all different colors that I'm gonna use to decorate the paper.

3:11.3

But yeah, that's all you need. And a flat surface would be nice.

3:17.3

Maybe some water to stay hydrated.

3:21.3

Maybe some light. Make sure you have enough light to see properly.
