Police departments across the country are facing a twofold problem.

Tiring is down, resignations and retirements are up.

Resignations increased almost 43% from 2019 to 2021.

Retirements rose nearly 24% in the same years.

That's according to the police executive research forum, a nonprofit whose members include

police chiefs from all over the US.

That's a problem for society nationwide.

If you can't get enough qualified candidates, and we heard from somebody earlier who works

at an academy said the quality of candidates has gone down, down, down.

That's a serious problem.

We got to look at what we're going to do.
