And on this week, in honor of this week's Friday the 13th, we're going to be reviewing one of the original slasher films from back in the day, the 1971 Italian film, A Bay of Blood,

directed and co-written by Mario Bava and starring Claudine Auger, Luigi Pistilli, Claudio Camaza,

and Laura Betty. In this film, after a woman by a bay is murdered, people descend on the area and become victims to a slasher.

And Brian, this was a first watch for me,

but had you seen this before? I had seen it before, and I was aware of the similarities to Friday the 13th, which is a big reason that we are covering this. This is the first time in nearly eight years

that we will not be covering a Friday the 13th film since we did the whole franchise and rewatch the first two.

But yeah, we chose this because it's a big influence on Friday the 13th. It's widely regarded as a huge influence on slasher's in general.

And there are two kills, debatedly more, that are extremely similar to kills in the first

two Friday the 13th films, so much so that most people think they were directly stolen from
