The president announced via Truth Social that his plan is for the TSA checks to be distributed through an emergency order, which makes the Department of Homeland Security act immediately.

Airport checkpoint lines have recently seen travelers wait for hours to be screened for their flights.

The White House had discussed invoking a national emergency to allow for possible presidential action,

even as senators struggled to reach an agreement on DHS funding.

The six-week partial shutdown has not only affected TSA, but other agencies within DHS, including

the Coast Guard and FEMA.

Fox is Grinnell Scott. Since they haven't been paid, TSA agents haven't been showing up for work,

which is causing travel nightmares.

TSA says airport wait times are now the longest in agency history. So far, nearly 500 TSA officers have quit because of unreliable pay.

As new Fox polls show nearly a third of Americans, 27 percent, are living paycheck to paycheck.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill to rename Caesar Chavez Day to Farm Workers Day,

following sexual abuse allegations against the Labor leader.

The state moved to make the change after allegations surfaced that Chavez abused girls and women,

including fellow labor icon Dolores Querta.
