| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the episode 99 of Real Life Gold Stories. |
| 0:29.6 | Thank you so much for your kindness and your patience and your understanding when I took a few days off, |
| 0:34.6 | but I am back and I have three spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from the 22nd of December 2020. |
| 0:42.2 | And story number one comes from Matty. |
| 0:47.9 | A few years ago, myself and some of my friends decided to try out a local ghost investigations company which we had found online. |
| 0:55.6 | Myself and one of my friends are avid horror film fans, so putting ourselves in a situation to be scared was a thrilling prospect. |
| 1:03.1 | We're from Liverpool and the event was in a restaurant near St George's Hall, a landmark that used to be used as the courts for the city. |
| 1:12.0 | Apparently, under the restaurant, there were catacombed type structures that held the original cells for the prisoners who were to be put on trial. |
| 1:20.8 | They would be led underground through tunnels which spanned the 500 meter or so gap between the building where we were in now and the courts. |
| 1:29.9 | This was our first experience of anything vaguely to do with the paranormal and we were supplied with ghost detecting equipment to see if we could find any energy while we were underground. |
| 1:41.5 | This included an electrical meter that flashed green to red anytime it detected strong electrical energy in the surrounding areas, audio recorders and a video camera. |
| 1:53.1 | We went down into the tunnel after a short briefing. |
| 1:56.2 | There were about 13 of us in total, us four, three guides and another group of friends. |
| 2:02.3 | The tunnels were freezing and you could feel the temperature continue to plummet as we climbed the stone stairs into what I can only describe as a giant, |
| 2:11.4 | stone cellar with large curved arches into different rooms. |
| 2:16.7 | If you google St George's Hall catacombs, you get an idea of the scale. |
| 2:21.7 | But these ones where the tour took place were abandoned a long time ago and have fallen into disrepair. |
| 2:29.0 | One of the guides was at the back of the group and as they closed the door behind us, it scraped along the floor to make a large, deep bang as it closed. |
| 2:38.3 | I'd had to hold the door open to let the group through so I knew it was really heavy. |
| 2:43.9 | The first room we tried was to the left as we entered. |
| 2:47.3 | It was a long narrow room which had been used recently to store building material. |
| 2:53.3 | Our group moved to one end and as we did we lost sight of the main corridor but could still see part of it through the archway where we had entered. |
