So let's face it, the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan

has been an unmitigated disaster.

The images of chaos coming from Kabul are reminiscent of the fall of Saigon.

It does not matter that Biden inherited most of what is happening,

or that Trump unilaterally signed it with drawback

that dramatically sped up the US exit,

or but dooming Biden to this very fate.

Ultimately, this is President Biden's decision.

He is the one that is called for this withdrawal, is going forward with it.

But this didn't happen in a vacuum.

It was President Trump that negotiated the agreement with the Taliban

to have a complete withdrawal that was supposed to actually happen by May 1st.

So who bears responsibility?
