Hello and welcome to another episode of Page 94.

My name is Andrew Hunter Murray and I'm here with Helen Lewis, Adam McQueen and Ian Hislop.

We are in the Private Eye Office and this is a special edition of page 94 because if you listen

to the last episode you will have heard us put out a call for correspondence. We have had an email address

all this time. We just hadn't told any of you. It's

and this time we are going to do a postbag special. So I thought we'd start off

Yeah, we'll answer the questions in about three weeks.

It's a great point.

I've always wondered why Private Eye doesn't have bylines.

Obviously, some contributors do so for safety,

but investigative journalists at other institutions

do include their names so why not the eye not that I necessarily want them just wondering.

Well it's very simple if you give reporters bylines they get a certain amount of credit for the stories

whereas if you don't give them a byline then it's just you as editor and you say

it's all down to me and that's been the guiding principle.
