Summary

America was founded on violence, so it should not be too hard to believe that part of the country’s DNA and culture is still constructed around the belief that it is better to be armed and not pull the trigger than to be unable to defend yourself.

Unfortunately, the police in the United States has taken this adage to heart by taking possession of a staggering amount of military weapons through the very controversial 1033 Program that recycles weapons of war from the battlefield in other countries back to the trigger-happy cops patrolling cities in America.
