So we'll just give a brief introduction of our guest. Jen Allen grew up in West Jordan, Utah and earned a degree in English from Brigham Young University.

She says she was sidetracked from her initial plan to teach English to instead manage events in the craft and scrapbooking industry, which at the time was a hugely popular industry.

For the past nine years, Jen has worked as the director of events for Family Search where she

organizes Roots Tech, which is a massive genealogical conference that has grown from an in-person

event in Salt Lake City to a full virtual online event for global audience.
