Summary

In the last 4 podcasts I shared how the executive functioning part of the brain affects home organization. Today I want to share 5 general tips for achieving home organization success if you have ADHD.

  1. Simplify EVERY area of your home EXCEPT for your passions.
  2. Box up past projects and put them in storage. {Keep them, but not in your work space.}
  3. Clean up your craft/ project area every 1-3 weeks.
  4. Maintain and straighten you home every 2-3 days.
  5. Reflect on what IS and is NOT working often.

0:54.5

through the 40 weeks one whole house challenge or who are getting through organizing their

0:59.0

house is they get through some rooms and they're into other rooms and they realize the rooms that they finished are now getting cluttering again.

1:06.4

Or, you know, we just want it to be done once and be done and it's not.

1:10.7

And so how much do you maintain and how do you maintain an organized house and

1:15.4

that'll be a whole separate podcast later, but that does come into play today.

1:20.1

So today I'm going to talk generally about organizing your house,

1:25.6

just some big general overview things

1:28.4

that don't really fit in any other like podcast

1:32.2

or post categories. So these are just some tips and tricks so the first

1:36.4

thing and I hear this from other organizers and I agree with it to an extent which is to try to live a more simple life and just get rid of a lot of stuff.

1:47.0

And while I totally understand that it's much easier to maintain a house that has less stuff,

1:52.0

the problem is there's always going to be one or two areas where it's super, super hard for you to get rid of stuff.
