novel entitled The Payback.

The Payback is a heist novel set in contemporary Los Angeles.

It is also a wicked send-up of the student loan industry.

It tells the story of three women, co-workers, who meet each other while working retail at a local

shopping mall, and eventually they band together to take down the student loan industry.

The payback is witty and wickedly funny and politically subversive, all the things that

Kashana Kali has become known for, both in her literary work, but also in her work as a writer

for film and television.

She wrote for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah for a time,

and she is prolific on social media. Many of you probably follow her on Blue Sky, formerly,

I think, on Twitter. And she's just super, super funny and always coming up with the jokes on social. So very pleased to have

Kashanakoli back on this program to talk with me about her new novel. Once again, it is called
