In these important episodes, we will cover Camille’s sexual assault during her mission to Mexico, Maddy’s sexual assault while on a mission in Bolivia, and how the LDS Church handled the aftermath of these traumatic experiences. Camille and Maddy also share their thoughts on how the LDS Church can improve their handling of sexual assaults and importantly, why they decided to go public with their stories now.

Also discussed throughout these episodes is the missionary cultural belief of obedience to mission rules results in protection from the Lord, even in the most war-torn and violent areas in the world. We talk about the feeling of invincibility and protection that Camille and Maddy felt before their assaults, and how their sexual assaults affected their faith in both LDS Church leadership, and in God.

1:30.0	Delin. It is September 7th, 2018 and we have a very important and very sobering episode for you today on Mormon Stories
1:41.0	podcast. Today we are interviewing Camille Junca and Maddie Seacott. And for those of you who follow the
1:49.0	Salt Lake Tribune, you will know that on August 30th this article appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune,
1:57.0	which is entitled Assault Survivors Seac Safety for Missionaries and it has a picture of Maddie there.
2:06.0	And then the next day or I believe was the day after, on August 31st, a second article
2:16.0	of Col came out that says no that someone cares with General Thordy Breton-Nielsen on the cover.
2:23.0	It's a two part very extensive story about Mormon Missionaries experiencing sexual assault and how the church handles it.
2:36.0	And while I think the article was very important and has had an important impact, I also think that
2:45.0	rarely can any newspaper article, maybe tell the full story. And so I'm pretty sure that they're important parts of the story that didn't get to get shared.
2:56.0	And so today on Mormon Stories podcast, we are very grateful and humbled to have Camille Junca and Maddie Seacott joining us to tell their stories.
