Tens of thousands of Venezuelans have taken to the streets of the capital Caracas in an attempt to

topple President Maduro from power.

The socialist Venezuelan dictatorship is on the verge of total collapse.

The regime that frankly could be toppled very quickly by the military

of the military decides to do that.

President Trump has announced his support for opposition leader Juan Guaido.

Venezuela's political crisis has reached boiling point. Mass protests have broken out, calling for the overthrow of President Nicholas Maduro,

has declared himself interim president.

The political crisis follows years of severe economic hardship

and increasingly authoritarian rule. Tom, can you tell us a bit more about what's going on in Venezuela?

I think what we're seeing is that the kind of crisis in Venezuela both political and economic is kind of reaching boiling point again

and I think it is worth taking a step back and just reminding

ourselves how bad things have gotten in Venezuela.
