Summary

I wanted to put out this episode at this exact time because this is about the time that we start to reconsider our New Year Resolutions and/or give them up all together. I would like to offer an alternative. I would like to give you a PLAN. Just because you don’t knock a goal out of the park immediately does not mean you should put that goal on the back burner. In fact, the best way to approach a goal is through small steps over time. So, if you have already given up on a health goal for 2017, I’m hear to give you permission to put that goal back on the table. Your goal wants to be met. It wants to be realized. It wants to improve your life. Your goal needs you.  So let’s get started, together, shall we? If you’ve been struggling to make fitness stick in the new year, I year you. While there is a lot of hype about fitness in January, it is usually a very transitional month for people, making it challenging to take on new habits and make them stick. LISTEN IN if you need help getting your rear in gear! 4 Tips to making exercise stick Have an accountability planHINT: This can involve any of the following: a calendar, your fridge, your family, your friends, your boss, your co-workers, a sticker chart  Do something you enjoyHINT: You won’t always enjoy it in the moment, but you should enjoy the overall experience and the benefits that begin the moment you are done Tell other peopleHINT: Learn how to brag (yes, there is a “right” way) Be in it for the long haulHINT: you gotta create some hype around your plan and your plan needs to be evolve-able to keep you engaged for the rest of your life  Links Mentioned: SMA Episode 92: Pratima Aravabhoomi - From Arranged Marriage to Independent Woman SMA Episode 69: Nasty Woman Manifesto   Learn more about your ad choices. shamelessmom.com and clicking on episode 95. Welcome to the Shameless Mom Academy. I'm your host, Sarah

0:16.7

Dean, and I'm here to give you and other passionate, dedicated moms the tools you need to bridge

0:21.5

the gap between motherhood and living the life of your dreams. I'm also here to help you be a little

0:26.5

more shameless every day, because if you aren't building a life, you're extraordinarily proud of,

0:31.4

what kind of legacy are you building? So let's dive in.

0:42.2

Hello, shameless moms.

0:43.8

So happy to be here today.

0:45.7

I've been sick the last couple days.

0:48.2

Thank you, Vinnie, for getting me sick.

0:50.2

And I'm feeling so much better today. And the greatest thing about the day after being sick is like the unbridled energy that you have

0:56.6

where you just feel invincible because you finally feel normal again and normal feels so amazing

1:01.7

because it's all relative to your recent experience, right? So if you were like crippled in bed the day

1:06.6

before, which I wasn't that bad, but if you felt down and out, being on the other side of that

1:11.2

feels really amazing. So I'm feeling much, much better. My voice is not totally recovered. So

1:16.6

you can just listen to my sexy radio voice. I wanted to start with some thank yous for reviews.

1:23.0

So I've been reading new reviews. If you go to shamelessmom.com forward slash review, you can leave a review. And you guys have been doing that. And I've been reading them. And they're so fun to reading. What I love is when people talk about a specific episode or just tell me something specific that they love about the show. A lot of people say things about laughing about certain things or being able to relate to certain things that they thought were maybe kind of uncommon among moms or among women. And then they realize and listening to the

1:48.4

Shameless Mom Academy that we all have the same problems. And we all hate the same things and we all

1:52.8

suffer from the same circumstances, which I'll be talking about my recent suffering in just a

1:57.9

minute. So thank you for those reviews. They mean so much to me.

2:00.8

And if you haven't left a review yet and you've been waiting for just the right time,

2:04.8

let's just push pause right now and do it. You can go to shameless mom.com forward slash review.
