What an honor and a pleasure it is to be here with you. I'm Spike Eskin. I feel like I haven't been on here late at night and forever.

0:11.0

Forever! I'm excited to be here with you. X-Vity Voice Line is 888-729-9494, Pound 9494, AT&T and Verizon Cell. I don't say excited in some cheesy radio guy way in which I'm lying. I'm actually very excited. I've been amped up all week to talk about quarterbacks.

0:28.0

One quick note. Actually, I'll save that note. I had a very interesting somehow. Let's put it this way. Somehow, the worlds of Sydney Crosby and New Orleans Noel have clashed tonight.

0:41.0

Somehow, those two names can be fit in one sentence. I'll tell you a little bit later why that is.

0:47.0

But more importantly, Michael Vick and Nick Falls. I mean, come on. I mean, this is the stuff dreams are made of. I mean, for me, on WIP, talking about a quarterback controversy.

0:58.0

I've been alive for 37 years. It's taken me 37 years to reach this pinnacle to be able to talk about something like this on this radio station. What do you think about it?

1:07.0

Given the situation that we were in at the end of last year. I think everybody remembers. Do you remember where you were when they resigned Michael Vick this offseason?

1:18.0

I remember exactly where I was. I was here working during the day. I was off to do an interview and I was in my car about to leave and I looked at my phone.

1:27.0

The Eagles just resigned Vick. So I had to run back up to my office and write the article. Everybody was shocked, right? And the minute that that happened, you knew that this was brewing. This very thing, this Michael Vick, Nick Falls quarterback controversy was brewing.

1:43.0

The fact that it's happening going into game six is really a testament to how good Michael Vick was in training camp because you remember going into training camp, it was like one or the other.

1:56.0

Chip Kelly was saying that it wasn't, it wasn't, it wasn't decided and everybody was watching. That was the big story about training camp was a quarterback controversy and the fact that everyone here, I mean, not everyone.

2:08.0

But mostly everyone here did not want Michael Vick back and did not really have any qualms within winning the job is really a testament to how well Michael Vick played in this preseason. And though, though Nick Falls played OK, I think everyone, you'd be hard pressed to find somebody that said that Nick Falls deserved that job after that preseason.

2:29.0

So the problem that I see with this quarterback controversy right now is that there is no quarterback controversy at all in that the only people that believe this is a quarterback controversy are the fans and maybe radio hosts and media members that believe Nick Falls should be the quarterback.

2:48.0

But those are the only people in my belief that think this is a quarterback controversy, the players on the team don't think it's a quarterback controversy. I don't believe the coach believes that a quarterback controversy.

2:58.0

I don't have a problem with Nick Falls as a guy, right? But the people that suggest that it is better to have Nick Falls as the starting quarterback for any reason, present or future are out of their minds.

3:12.0

They're out of their minds. If you're sitting there right now listening to this and believe that Nick Falls right now is a better choice for the Eagles as a present team or playing him right now is better for the Eagles future.

3:25.0

I don't know what you're watching. I feel like I need to understand your perspective better. First, let's talk about the present. Let's talk about right now because the Eagles most certainly don't have a better chance to win with Nick Falls right now.

3:39.0

Chip Kelly's offense is predicated. This is very simple. We knew about this before the season. This is not a surprise. Quick, Chip Kelly's offense is predicated on the quarterback being able to move. It just is Nick Falls can't move.

3:52.0

That's the fact when Nick Falls went to the scouting combine. Nick Falls was the slowest quarterback out the scouting combine. That's a problem. You don't need to be Michael Vick, but being Nick Falls is a problem.

4:04.0

So when Nick Falls can't move, it means that this offense regardless of what Chip Kelly tells you that he can adjust and certainly if he had to, he can and he will this week. But regardless of which chip Kelly tells you, this offense cannot function the same way with Nick Falls as the quarterback compared to when Michael Vick is the quarterback.

4:23.0

Nick Falls is slow, doesn't have a strong arm, which means that we'll see three yard passes down the field, which means it will take longer for the Eagles to score, which means you will need to run more plays per drive, which means there's more of a chance of them turning it over or something going wrong.

4:40.0

Now, if the Eagles didn't have a terrible, terrible, terrible defense, having some sort of game manager quarterback might be an option, right? If you're the Kansas City Chiefs, having Alex Smith as your quarterback and scoring 18 points a game isn't a huge problem because the defense is so good.
