In my mind, hopefully this is a chance for us to kind of unpack

like really what a short is and what a feature is.

And I think by kind of categorizing those and contextualizing those, we can talk

about what the process of adaptation looks like. So this is kind of a discussion quasi-moderated panel,

but I'm just going to kind of ask Megan Lorian questions and then we will open up the floor for questions as well.

start by asking both of you, when you think of a short film especially a successful short film

What do you think of and I think specifically like what is kind of the purpose of a short to both of you?

Well, the first purpose of a short

is to teach the filmmaker what they're doing.

It's an exercise.
