So this came out in like 94 so I was like 10 or 11 and so if I saw this movie as like an 11 or 12 year old I was like these are adults this is what adulthood is like how

cool they are oh this is what love is like can't wait and then I got older and

was just like yeah this does speak to me and how hard it is to enter the world of adulthood and

man I do have shitty men who treat me badly let me watch this movie about a

shitty man who got a man who got his shit together at the end to make my so that I can feel sad

You know when you're sad and you look in the mirror to cry to make yourself cry some more absolutely this movie is the emotional version of that

And now I'm in my 30s and I hate everybody in this film.

So this movie was written by Helen Childress, who at the time this movie came out was like 24 or 25.
