When we last left off, we were right on the cusp of a major shift in Anglo-Saxon England.

And we've been talking about the various kingdoms and the cultures and the politics that

Dark Ages is that life in Britain was incredibly fragmented at this point in history.

We're simply not dealing with a homogenous population over the whole of Britain, or even

the whole of whales or England or anywhere like that.

In today's culture, we have a surprising amount of commonality thanks to the influences

of media, travel, and national political bodies.

But even today, you'll find distinct cultural differences in different parts of whales,

in different parts of England, and definitely in different parts of the UK, like comparing

say, whales with Kent.

Now part of what I've been trying to show you as we've been going through all this stuff

is that the cultural differences would have been even greater back then.

There were different cultural groups, ethnic groups, kingdoms, you name it.

Britain wasn't Britain.
