Peter and I are taking a break for Christmas in New Year's and well-deserved.

So today, a kind of a Christmas treat for you all, the day the president laughed, this is the best of, but the first time we ran it in 2020, for some reason we kind of buried it behind an interview with the great Dahlia Lithwick.

You know, when Donald Trump started running in 15, I watched him a lot and I noticed something which I never saw him laugh and I have not seen him laugh since.

The day the president laughed is a fable of sorts for just how awful Donald Trump is.

In our story, Jared and Ivanka and Don Jr. and Eric realize that they have never seen their father laugh.

And maybe, just maybe, if Trump laughed just once, it would make their lives well tolerable.

So they announced a contest.

Whoever can make Donald Trump laugh will win a family high rise in midtown Manhattan.

There are some twists and turns along the way, and I know you'll enjoy it, maybe even more the second time around.

this brutal war.
