Today I'm delighted to bring you our featured guest, Josh Steed, and our topic, A Day in the Life,

what's it really like to be a home builder and renovator? Welcome, Josh.

Thanks, Don. I appreciate you having me on. It is our pleasure. Josh, are you using your talents doing work that you love?

I sure am.

I enjoy almost every day being a home builder and contractor.

All right.

Well, we certainly want to hear that whole story.

Josh Steed has been in the home building renovation, historic preservation, and real estate development business for more than 35 years.

Through his firm, Steed Properties, Construction, and Renovation, he's built, renovated, and restored more than 300 homes and buildings all across Atlanta and North Georgia.

Josh is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and is married to Robin.

They have three adult children and live in Sharpsburg, Georgia.

So as we discussed in our pre-interview chat, Josh, to start our day and the life journey,

take us into your backstory of Josh Steed, family of origin, where it all began, the people in places and choices

and changes that got you where you are today?

Well, I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. My father was the lawyer, a bond lawyer, at King and Spalding,

and also he was a writer. The writers say he was a lawyer, and the lawyers say he was a writer, which is always a funny thing. But he was a lawyer and the lawyers say he was writer which is always a funny thing but he was a humorous guy my mom is an artist and she did portraits and commissioned art um all while i was growing up so i was was always intrigued by their, I think, their independence.

I went to high school. I had two younger sisters. We all went to Northside High School.

That's interesting to have the amalgam of parents, a lawyer who's a writer. That's interesting.
