Well, today we're going to talk about something that is so important. It's

kind of hard to characterize this importance. We're going to talk about faith, the nature of faith.

What is faith? And I want to start with a story I've told many times.

My brother, Ted, and I were both pastors in northeastern Pennsylvania, Ted in Hazleton, and me

and Scranton, and we were asked to speak for this conference retreat on faith.

And so I was tasked with speaking first, and I wanted to poll the crowd,

to gauge the understanding of faith.

And I said, would someone just tell me what faith is?

And the first person says, well, it means to trust.

And I said, okay, what does it mean to trust?
