And we've got a few Phillies things to talk about as you're getting ready for Super

Bowl 59 between the Eagles and the Chiefs.

The Phillies, one of their biggest division rivals, they sign an old friend, one of their

old friends anyway, to a new contract and talked about some big decisions coming next

offseason for the Phillies. I heard from Kyle Schwer about potentially signing an extension

during spring training. We'll get to that. Fan graphs is out with their playoff odds and predicted

standing. Some interesting numbers there. We'll tell you where they have the Phillies and some other

things that caught my eye. Plus, I will give you my 26-man roster predictions as of right now here in

early February as spring training is a couple of weeks away from pitchers and catchers reporting.

So all that stuff coming up here on this Super Bowl edition of hitting season in which we're not going to talk about the Super Bowl at all.

But let's start off talking about the New York Mets.

It's not a Mets podcast, but really they've made the biggest news this week,

resigning First Baseman Pete Alonzo to a free agent contract.

Now, they'd been dancing around each other for most of the off-season

here, but it seemed likely that these two groups, these two entities would end up back together.
