Hello ladies and gentlemen of the world and welcome to Luke's English podcast.

My name is Luke, this is my podcast, welcome to it.

I hope that you're well in whatever part of the world you are, whatever you're doing. I often start

podcast episodes like this by sort of saying the same thing, but it's kind of a habit.

It allows me to just sort of get started. So if I just say the same thing at the beginning of each

episode, I've just got started and then I can just kind of carry on. Because when I'm doing

this I have to kind of keep talking to make it engaging. I can't stop and think.

You know, I can't just sort of stop and because then you're just listening to kind of the air,

aren't you? I mean you might as well not be listening to something if I'm if I just stop for any length of time. In fact, I believe on the radio, if you're a DJ, if you stop and you don't broadcast anything for kind of a fairly long period of time you will lose your job because it's your job to keep talking so that there is stuff constantly coming out of the speakers

into the faces and the ears of listeners, right?

So that's kind of my job.

I've just got to keep talking.

Now you might hear noises from time to time like the noise which you might have just heard there

although it was a bit muffled because I was I had my hand over it but I've got my mobile phone here in my hand.

The reason for that is I'll explain that in a moment.

I'm going to use my mobile in this episode basically.

And I thought it might be interesting because I'm getting so much activity now on my phone from messages in various ways.

I thought it might be interesting to kind of have the phone with me while I record a podcast so that you can hear it beep and bleep and

stuff and then I'll have a look at why it's beeping.
