... Annelogue...

Hello from a still sunny Portland, Oregon. Yes, it's still sunny. We're waiting for the

monsoon to come. This will be our first winter here in the northwest, so we're expecting

the worst. But as of today, September 21st, I think the first day of autumn, it's still

sunny and warm and beautiful. Although I notice leaves are starting to change and they change

pretty quickly up here. So there is that impending sense of something's coming. The dark clouds

are coming. Welcome to another edition of tangentially speaking. That funky, crazy,

spacey music there at the beginning is brought to us through the kindness and generosity

of Mark Macomba and his band Basin and Range. Check them out. I was thinking it might be

fun to use something a little different. Much as I love carcy and I definitely want to

keep carcy songs smoke alarm in the outro. I was thinking maybe switch up the intro every

once in a while, give it a different sound. So let me know what you think of that. If you

think I should keep it, think I should go back to the smoke alarm intro. I think I should

do something different every week. I don't know. I have to be careful about copyrights and

all that sort of stuff. So I don't want to get too crazy. Anyway, for first 15 minutes of

this podcast, I know you've heard me say this before, but there's a little weirdness with

the microphone. I got a new microphone and what happened was that, first time I used it

on this particular episode. And I had the headphones plugged into the microphone. So I was

hearing like really clear, nice and loud conversation. But I was watching the peak monitors

on the computer and it wasn't it wasn't peeking. What didn't look as loud as it sounded.

And it took me 15 minutes before I realized that what had happened was that it was using

the speak, the microphone in the computer to record even though I had the other microphone
