Colin McCarthy A Google Workspace and SaaS admin and expert, Colin first saw the power of SaaS in 2005 when he used Writely (became Google Docs) and his own Google Apps domain in 2009. Since then he’s helped Essence grow from 1 office and 60 staff in 2010 to 20 global offices and over 1800 staff by embracing SaaS platforms. Originally from the London area, Colin is now based in NYC, where he manages a global IT support team. Okay. So, yeah, thanks for, for having me on on. So yeah, I'm the VP for Global IT for Essence, an advertising agency,

part of Group M, part of WPP. And I guess my day job is providing the IT infrastructure for 2,000 employees, 20 plus offices globally around the world,

giving people laptops, office internet connections, when we used to have offices,

dealing with all of the internal infrastructure, meeting rooms, whatnot,

and managing all the tools that they use now that everybody, like the rest of us, is working remotely.

So we are on Google Workspace. We've been on Google Workspace since it was called Google Apps for Business.

Thankfully, Essence was on the Google domain before I joined back in 2010.

So that's sort of what I do, provide work with a team of 14 colleagues.

We provide them with all of our users with the tools and the hardware that they need to do the jobs to service the clients that we have.
