This is the first installment of the Marijuana Awareness series. I'm your host, Dr. Donnellyce

Snipes. In this brief video, we're going to define the endocannabinoid system very superficially,

and we'll explore its many functions and interactions. Now, I'm not going to be talking about cannabis in this video.

What I'm talking about is the parts of the nervous system that cannabis acts on, the cannabinoid

receptors. The endocannabinoid system is a widespread neuromodulatory system that plays an important role

in central nervous system development, synaptic plasticity, and the mental and physical responses

to endogenous and environmental stimuli. So let's unpack that really quick.
